Riverbank - A Tribute

RIVERBANK - GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

It is with great sadness and sense of loss that I write this obituary for dear old Riverbank. Losing any horse is devastating and upsetting but anyone who has owned a stallion will understand the unique bond and respect which exists between stallion and partner.

I bought Riverbank in 2003 and he had to be one of the most kindest and genuine stallions anyone could own. He was always a pleasure to be with. Whatever you were doing he was without exception a true gentleman. He was 24 years old and had been suffering from Cushings Syndrome for the last year. Sadly he lost his battle on 23rd November 2005.

He is buried in his paddock where he used to stand watching over the mares. A plaque has been erected in his memory and I await his last foal in 2006.

Bless you Rivs,
Alison Ives
